MICHAEL BOLTON - THE GOLDEN VOICE
Michael Bolton, (born Michael Bolotin in New Haven, Connecticut on February 26, 1954) is a Jewish-American Pop, Rock and Adult contemporary singer-songwriter known for his soft rock ballads and gravelly singing voice.
Over the course of his extraordinary career, Michael Bolton-singer, songwriter, and social activist- has sold over 52 million albums and singles worldwide, and has won two Grammys for best male vocalist, and six American Music Awards among many other accolades.
Background
Bolton is a solo vocalist and has found his success in the "easy listening" genre. Unbeknownst to many, however, Bolton got his musical start in the late seventies with a heavy metal band called Blackjack, which also featured one-time Kiss guitarist Bruce Kulick, in which he was known by his birth name. The band once toured with Ozzy Osbourne. He began recording as Michael Bolton in 1983. He has also performed with Luciano Pavarotti, Placido Domingo, Renee Fleming, Patti Labelle, Ray Charles, Percy Sledge, Wynonna Judd, and BB King.
Although Bolton is known for singing other artists' songs, he is also a prolific songwriter, having written songs for Barbra Streisand, KISS, Kenny Rogers, Kenny G, Cher, Peabo Bryson and Patti Labelle, as well as having co-written songs with Bob Dylan, BabyFace and Diane Warren, among others.
Bolton is the father of daughters born in the mid-1970s - Isa, Holly and Taryn.
In 1993, he established the Michael Bolton Foundation (now the Michael Bolton Charities, Inc.) to assist women and children at risk from the effects of poverty and emotional, physical, and sexual abuse. The foundation has provided over $3.7 million in funding to local and national charities.
Bolton also serves as the honorary chairman of Prevent Child Abuse America, the national chairman for This Close for Cancer Research, and a board member for the National Mentoring Partnership and the Joe DiMaggio Children's Hospital.
In March, 2003, Bolton joined with Lifetime Television, Verizon Wireless, and many others to lobby on behalf of the National Coalition Against Domestic Violence, urging legislation to provide more assistance for victims of domestic violence, such as affordable housing options.
Bolton has received the Lewis Hine Award from the National Child Labor Committee, the Martin Luther King Award from the Congress of Racial Equality, and the Ellis Island Medal of Honor from the National Ethnic Coalition of Organizations. The Hollywood Chamber of Commerce also recognized Bolton with a star on the "Walk of Fame" for his musical and charitable contributions.

Rachelle Ferrell is an African American musician, renowned for her six and a half octave vocal range. Although she has had some success in the mainstream R&B, pop, gospel, and classical music scene, she is most noted for her talents as a contemporary jazz singer.
Ferrel began singing at the age of six, which contributed to her expansive vocal range. She received classical training on violin at an early age and by the time she was a teen, she was able to play the piano at a professional level. She enrolled in Berklee College of Music in Boston where she honed her musical abilities in arrangement, singing and songwriting.
Ferrell's 1992 eponymous debut album was released on Capitol Records and had a more contemporary/pop ambience. She, however, was also able to release jazz recordings on Blue Note Records, as a result of her unique contract.
Ferrell is noted for her vocal range capable of accessing the whistle register. In 'It Only Took A Minute', Rachell jumps from about a E4 to D7 without hitting any other pitch in between.

Eric Benét (born October 15, 1966 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin) is an American rhythm and blues and gospel singer.
Biography
Benét's father loved classical music and inspired an interest in music in his son. By his teens, Eric had formed a vocal group with his sister and cousin called "Benét." The group released a self-titled album in 1992 but only sold 70,000 copies possibly due to a lack of proper promotion by Capitol Records.
Also in 1992, Benét's girlfriend, Tami, gave birth to a daughter they named India. The couple's happiness was short-lived when Tami was killed in a car accident a little over a year later.
In 1994, Benét signed with Warner Brothers, releasing his solo debut album, True to Myself, in fall (1996). His next album, A Day in the Life, was released in 1999; its first single, "Georgy Porgy" received significant airplay, but the second single "Spend My Life With You," became a smash hit. The album rose to number one on the American R&B charts, was certified gold, and nominated for a 2000 Grammy Award for Best R&B Performance by a Duo or Group. It also later won a Soul Train Music Award for Best R&B/Soul Album, Male. Benét also was recorded for Earth, Wind, and Fire's 30th anniversary CD.
Benét has also been active as an actor; he had a recurring role on the television program For Your Love (1998 - 2002). He made his film debut in Glitter (2001).
He became engaged to actress Halle Berry in 1999 and the couple married in January of 2001. The couple separated in 2003 allegedly due to Benét's infidelity and have filed for divorce.

Vocal Profile

Sheryn Mae Poncardas Regis, was born and raised in Carcar, Cebu to Bernardo and Daisy Regis. She is the eldest of three kids and has two siblings, Elton and Joseph.
Sheryn is well-remembered as the consistent top scorer of Star in a Million. Eventually, she ended up as first runner-up to Erik Santos in January 2004. From being the “Power Belter”, to the “Shining Diva”, Sheryn is now considered the new “Crystal Voice of Asia”. Since then, Sheryn has earned the hearts of the people and is best known for her powerful renditions of ballads including Wendy Moten’s “Come In Out of the Rain”, Roberta Flack’s “Maybe”, and her famous lung-busting rendition of Chaka Khan’s “Through the Fire”. She is not just a local Filipina star, but has become a world-class singer, traveling with her co-champions in many parts of the world to share their unique talents.
Early Life and Career
Sheryn’s childhood was not easy. While growing up, her family experienced the realities of living. Due to the lack of money, her father had to go to Saudi Arabia to compensate for the family’s needs. It was during those times that her mother guided Sheryn in singing. Ironically, it was her father who could sing well, but her mother took the place of a singing coach.
At the age of 2, Sheryn was able to hum and sing simple tunes already, her mom recalls. Her first and favorite contest piece was Ms. Kuh Ledesma’s “Dito Ba” which Sheryn learned at the age of five. At seven, Sheryn started joining amateur singing contests, one after the other. Her winnings were used to buy tapes of Shirley Bassey’s hits for her next contest piece. And at the age of eight, Sheryn won her first grand prize for Ms. Tillie Moreno’s “Saan Ako Nagkamali?”.
While other children were spending their time playing, Sheryn devoted herself to practicing her contest pieces. Though without formal training, she recalls practicing beside a deep well to help her reach high notes. Needless to say, singing was a passion for Sheryn.
Aside from singing, Sheryn tried teaching voice lessons to children while in high school. In her college years, Sheryn was able to finish her B.S. Secondary Education, Major in English in Cebu Normal University. It was during these years too that she was exposed to theater acting and chorale singing. It gave her a chance to travel abroad and to perform to Filipino communities in Canada and in the USA. They had Mr. Leo Martinez and Ms. Gina Alajar as workshop mentors. In 1999, she was awarded as the Best Interpreter in the Cebu Pop Music Festival (a songwriting festival) and the original composition that was sung by her also won the Grand Prize.
Sheryn worked as a lounge singer in Cebu Plaza Hotel where she met the man of her life. Her husband, Earl Echiverri, was the pianist then. Though the age gap is quite big, it did not matter at all. Sheryn quips that it was Earl’s maturity that attracted her the most. In 2002, they got married and their love was blessed with a wonderful daughter in 2003 nicknamed “Sweetie”.
Later in 2003, Sheryn tried her luck in ABS-CBN’s Star in a Million. She was the consistent top finalist, but ended up as the first runner-up and texter’s choice awardee. Thinking it was the end of her dream, Sheryn went back to Cebu. Unexpectedly, aside from ABS-CBN, another company offered her a recording contract. After careful choice-making, she decided to accept ABS-CBN’s offer for she has been grateful to the network.
Recent Accomplishments
Sheryn Regis wins 2nd prize in 2004 Voice of Asia Song Festival held in Kazakhstan.
In the end, Sheryn became a champion in her own right. Great opportunities came her way after her heartache in SIAM. Her “losing” song, “Come In Out of the Rain” was a consistent hit in the radio and was number 1 for 12 consecutive weeks in the MYX Hit Chart. Her first solo album under Star Records entitled, “Sheryn, Come In Out of the Rain” was released in April 2004 and has reached platinum status in less than three months. From the said album also comes the theme song of the hit fantaserye, Marina, entitled “Kailan Kaya” written by Cacai Velasquez and Raul Mitra. She has become part of different shows, including MTB, Most Requested Show, Search for the Star in a Million Season 2, ASAP ’06, and her own hosting-stint in Little Big Star Cebu. Sheryn was chosen by Mr. Vehnee Saturno to represent the Philippines in the 2004 Voice of Asia Song Festival held in Kazakhstan where she won Second Prize. She joins Sarah Geronimo, Erik Santos, Rachelle Ann Go, Frenchie Dy, Jerome Sala, Kris Lawrence, Jed Madela, Mark Bautista, and Christian Bautista in the “Champions”, a league of Filipino singers who made it big in singing contests.
In July of 2005, Sheryn launched her second album entitled "Sheryn Regis, What I Do Best" of which the carrier single bearing the same title became a hit and was awarded Best Song by a Female Performer in the same year. She is the lovely voice behind the song “Sabihin Mo Sa Akin”, the theme from ABS-CBN’s fantaserye, “Kampanerang Kuba” which stars Ms. Anne Curtis. Her song "Hindi Ko Kayang Iwan Ka" was chosen to be the love theme song of Ms. Kristine Hermosa's teleserye entitled, Gulong ng Palad. Soon, Sheryn's "Sa Piling Mo" will be playing for Ms. Judy Ann Santos and Mr. Piolo Pascual's soap with the same title, and "Dahil Nagmamahal" for Ms. Bernadette Sembrano's Nagmamahal, Kapamilya. Sheryn hosted the recently concluded Search for the Star in a Million Season 2 with fellow champs Erik, Rachelle Ann, and Mark. She is also the host of Little Big Star Cebu which is shown in ABS-CBN's Regional Channels.
